Best Meal in Years - BLT Prime - 22nd between Lexington and Park Ave.
It was Sunday night and I had tried earlier on our trip to get a reservation at the ever hip Union Square Cafe, but alas a no go. After talking with the Maitré De at USC, he suggested a couple of places. Finally he suggested BLT Prime, that man is my goddamn hero! We snagged a late reservation and from the hours of 9:30 to 11:00 I rode high on top of Gods wig across the universe of pleasure. Everything was done right. From the chef sending out little nibblies like a chicken liver paté and perhaps the best yorkshire pudding I've ever had. The service ranged from a woman who couldn't really understand us, to 5 servers laying out our mains and ensuring our perpetual state of bliss. The decor was simple and elegant, marked by the glass house meat locker showing off its beautifully aged beef. It was by most means a steak house, however, from the great food, the quality service, and a steak that far surpasses anything I've ever had, it was a superior dining experience. It was near perfection, plain and simple. It was pricey, but something are worth it. This is a must do if you are ever in NYC.
This is worth an easy 9.3 out of 10
It only losses marks for the room temperature being slightly too cool, and our main waitress having a hard time with the english we were using...that's hardly a complaint.
