Last of the Big Oscars
A good film, well put together and ultimately worthy of the Oscar for best picture. It was not the best director, that will/should go to the Cohens. Daniel Day Lewis was excellent, and the film itself is rich with anxiety and eerie anticipation of bad and foreboding things to come to light. I actually thought the movie did not feel long, and that the pacing was very good, although I had just worked a 9hr shift on my feet so perhaps I was due for a rest. The film is a heavy 2hr and 40mins, but I was drawn through almost all of it. Well cast, well shot, and worthy of joinging the top 5 group.
I give it a 7.9 our of 10
